For example: a 1st century Celtic Iron Age settlement, prehistoric cave paintings, the sanctuary of Chilla and, in Candeleda, the 15th century church, La Asunción, which houses an ancient ceramic altarpiece made in Talavera. Local villages, such as Chilla, Los Empalaos in Valverde, El Peropalo in Villanueva and El Jarramplás, are famed for their popular traditional festivals and are also accessible by car.
